The pink color of the badminton courts at the London Olympics in Wembly arena will give people a sense of warmth and romance, said Chinese badminton head coach Li Yongbo this week.

Pink is the Olympic color in London. It is also color of the periphery of the Badminton courts. The actual court mats are  pale green, most commonly used for international Badminton matches.

"It is quite special," Yongbo said. "Normally the colors of badminton court are green, gray or blue, and this time you need a couple of days to get used to the change."

He noted that pink was a color of romance, where players were likely to lose their sense of competitiveness. "But it is fair anyway as every shuttler needs to face it, just a test of your adaptability."
